if by “my boss” you mean mike– yeah, he never listens to the message before calling back! He calls me back without a message, but not sure about how he handles work calls.

I’ve found that “my boss” never listens to my messages before calling back, but I leave one because I want him to know to call back. This has trained me to ask people who return my calls, “Did you listen to my message?” right off the bat so I know whether to re-explain what I said. Or, I’ll just leave a message saying to call back so I don’t have to say everything twice. I’m not a big fan of talking on the phone, so even though I’m a cheapskate, sometimes I’ll pay the $0.08 to text because I feel the sacrifice is worth not having to talk on the phone.

I usually don’t call someone back if they didn’t leave a message, because I figure it wasn’t important/urgent and if it is, they will call me back. If mike leaves me a message, I may call back without listening, but if someone else leaves a message I listen before calling back. I hate texting, although when i got my new phone number and plan I did add 300 text messages/month, so maybe I will catch the trend!

If it’s something important, but not urgent, I’ll leave a message. Like, if I wanted to tell you “hey, it’s Friday and church stuff has changed for Sunday”, that’s a message for me. If it’s important and urgent, I’ll call – no answer – text. I do think most with Jonathan. Otherwise, if I just wanna chat or have something random to say, I don’t usually leave a message.

I’m embarrassed to admit that this comment will totally reflect my age, but…. at any rate; I usually end up just calling someone after I start to text because I realize it would be so much quicker!!
